STEM CELLS FROM EXCESS FATS

Research has shown that certain fat cells can be reprogrammed to become induced pluripotent stem cells, or iPS cells. The key benefit of an iPS cell is its potential to be turned into nearly any type of human cell. The fat cells that are removed during an abdominal liposuction procedure could, in theory, be reprogrammed into skin cells, muscle cells and many other types of cells.
